Whether you're migrating from another email platform or uploading a fresh list of subscribers, importing contacts via CSV in SendX is quick and intuitive.
This guide walks you step-by-step through the entire process from uploading your file to mapping fields like country, tags, and custom attributes so your contact data stays organized and ready for automation.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Select Lists
Navigate to the Audience tab in SendX.
From the drop-down menu, select Lists.
Step 2: Import Contacts
Locate the list you want to add contacts to.
Click on the Import button beside that list.
Step 3: Upload CSV File
Drag and drop your CSV file, or click Upload File to select it manually.
Once uploaded, click Continue to proceed.
Step 4: Auto-Mapping
SendX automatically detects column headers and maps them to existing fields (e.g., Name, Email).
If a field isn’t mapped automatically, you can map it manually in the next step.
Step 5: Choose Mapping
Click the Choose Mapping drop-down menu to view or edit field mappings.
To add a new field like “Country,” type country in the search box.
Step 6: Map or Create Fields
If “Country” doesn’t exist, select Create Field: Country (Text) to add it.
Repeat the process for any other new columns (e.g., City, Phone Number, Signup Source).
Step 7: Add Tags
To tag contacts automatically, map the column in your CSV (e.g., Tags) to the Tags field.
Tags help segment contacts for future campaigns and workflows.
Step 8: Complete Mapping
Once all fields are mapped, click Complete to finalize the setup.
Step 9: Import Contacts
SendX will now start importing your contacts.
A notification pop-up will confirm the progress and completion of the import.
Step 10: Verify Contact Details
Click the Info icon next to any contact name to view their details.
Confirm that all custom fields and tags were mapped correctly.
That’s It!
Your contacts are now fully imported, mapped, and ready to use for campaigns, automations, or workflows.
You can segment your audience instantly using tags or custom fields and start sending targeted, personalized emails.
Pro Tip
Before importing, make sure your CSV file includes clean data one contact per row, clear column headers, and no duplicates for the best results.
