SendX lets you duplicate any campaign to reuse its content and settings, or resend a sent campaign specifically to recipients who didn't open it. Both options save time and help you get more from your existing work.
Why Use These Features
Duplicate a campaign when you want to reuse content, settings, or recipient lists for a new send. This is faster than building from scratch and ensures consistency across similar campaigns.
Resend to unopeners when you want to give your email another chance with people who missed it the first time. This is a proven tactic to boost overall open rates without sending to people who already engaged.
How to Duplicate a Campaign
You can duplicate a campaign in any state: draft, scheduled, sent, or paused.
Go to your Newsletters or campaign list screen
Find the campaign you want to duplicate
Click the hamburger menu (three dots) next to the campaign
Select Duplicate
SendX creates a new campaign with:
"Copy of" added to the beginning of the campaign name
The same content, subject line, and sender settings
The same recipient list/segments
The same scheduling type selected (though you'll need to update the date and time)
Before sending the duplicate:
Update the campaign name to something meaningful
Review and modify the content if needed
Set a new date and time for scheduling
Confirm your recipients are still correct
How to Resend to Unopeners
This option is available for campaigns that have already been sent.
Go to your Newsletters or campaign list screen
Find the sent campaign you want to resend
Click the hamburger menu (three dots)
Select Resend to Unopeners
SendX creates a new campaign with:
"Resend to Unopeners" tag added to the campaign name (for your internal tracking)
The same content and settings as the original
A new recipient segment automatically created, targeting only contacts who did not open the original campaign
Before sending:
Verify the recipient count. You should see a smaller number than the original send, representing only the unopeners.
Consider changing the subject line. A different subject can catch attention the second time around.
Optionally modify the content if you think a different approach might work better
Set your scheduling options and send
How the Unopeners Segment Works
When you click "Resend to Unopeners", SendX creates a dynamic segment that identifies contacts who received but didn't open the original campaign.
Important: When you actually schedule or send the resend campaign, SendX takes a snapshot of the segment at that moment. This ensures you're sending to a fixed list, not one that keeps changing after you've sent.
This means if someone opens the original email between when you created the resend campaign and when you scheduled it, they'll be excluded from the resend.
Best Practices
Wait before resending. Give recipients time to open the original email before resending to unopeners. Most email engagement happens within 24-48 hours, so waiting at least that long helps ensure your unopeners list is accurate.
Change your subject line. If the original subject didn't get someone to open, the same subject probably won't work the second time. Try a different angle, add urgency, or ask a question.
Don't overdo resends. While you can resend to unopeners multiple times, doing so too frequently can annoy recipients and lead to unsubscribes or spam complaints. One or two resends per campaign is typically the reasonable maximum.
Consider the timing. Try sending the resend at a different time of day or day of the week. Maybe your audience is more responsive in the evening, or perhaps the original sent on a busy Monday morning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I duplicate a campaign that's still in draft?
Yes. You can duplicate campaigns in any state: draft, scheduled, sent, or paused.
Can I modify the content before resending to unopeners?
Yes. The resend creates a new campaign that you can edit before sending. You can change the subject line, content, sender, scheduling, or anything else.
How many times can I resend to unopeners?
There's no limit. You can resend to unopeners multiple times for the same original campaign. Each resend creates a new segment based on who still hasn't opened.
Why is my unopeners count different from what I expected?
The unopeners segment keeps updating based on your engagement in the original campaign. If you check the count, wait a few hours, and check again, it may have changed as more people open the original email. The count is locked in when you schedule or send the resend campaign.
Does the duplicate include my scheduling settings?
The scheduling type (Send Now, Send Later, Smart Send, etc.) is preserved, but you'll need to update the specific date and time since the original schedule would be in the past or no longer relevant.
Can I resend to unopeners for a campaign that's still sending?
It's best to wait until the original campaign has finished sending and had time to collect engagement data. Trying to resend while the original is still in progress would give you incomplete data on who has or hasn't opened.
