In SendX, lists are used to group and manage contacts for targeted campaigns. Sometimes, you may want to permanently delete a list, along with all contacts in it. This guide will help you delete a list and ensure the associated contacts are removed as well.
Before You Begin
Make sure:
The list and its contacts are no longer needed.
You've exported the contact data if you might need it in the future.
You understand that deleting a list with its contacts is a permanent action.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Navigate to the Audience Section
From the SendX Dashboard, click on Audience in the left-hand menu.
Step 2: Open the Lists Tab
Click on the Lists tab to view all existing lists.
Step 3: Select the List You Wish to Delete
Locate the list you want to remove and click on it.
Step 4: Click on the Delete Option
In the list view, click the Actions menu and choose Delete List.
Step 5: Choose to Delete With Contacts
A confirmation dialog box will appear. Select the option:
"Delete List along with all its Contacts"
⚠️ Important: If you do not select this option, only the list will be deleted and the contacts will remain in your account as "floating contacts."
Step 6: Confirm Deletion
Double-check your selection and click Confirm to permanently delete both the list and its contacts.
Tips & Best Practices
Always export data if there’s any chance you’ll need the contacts again.
Use list naming conventions to easily identify groups that are safe to delete.
Be cautious with shared contacts—contacts in a list may also belong to other lists or tags.
Troubleshooting
Deleted the list, but the contacts remain?
You may have missed selecting the “Delete with Contacts” option in the dialog box.
Can’t find the delete option?
Ensure you have the correct permissions. Only admins can delete lists.
Need to recover a deleted list?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. Contact SendX support for help with recent deletions.
