Custom Content Blocks in SendX allow you to save and reuse frequently used email elements like headers, footers, and CTAs across multiple campaigns. Instead of redesigning the same content elements repeatedly, you can create them once and drag them into any future email with just a few clicks.
This feature helps you maintain brand consistency, save design time, and ensure your team uses approved content blocks across all email campaigns.
Before You Begin
Before creating custom content blocks, make sure you have:
Before creating custom content blocks, make sure you have:
Existing email campaigns to audit: Review your recent campaigns to identify headers, footers, or sections that appear repeatedly and would benefit from being saved as blocks.
Brand assets organized: Have your logo files, brand colors, and standard text snippets ready so you can create comprehensive content blocks.
Team permissions clarified: Understand who on your team can create, edit, and delete saved content blocks to avoid workflow conflicts.
Content approval process established: Know which content blocks need approval before being saved for team use, especially for headers with legal disclaimers or compliance information.
File naming strategy planned: Decide on naming conventions that will make sense to your team months later (include dates, campaign types, or seasonal indicators).

Drag and drop the saved block into your email.
Tips & Best Practices
Here are some strategic ways to maximize the impact of custom content blocks for your email marketing workflow:
Create blocks with placeholder text for easy customization: Save headers with "[MONTH] Newsletter" or "[PRODUCT NAME] Launch" so you can quickly adapt them for different campaigns without redesigning.
Build seasonal block libraries ahead of time: Create holiday-themed headers, promotional CTAs, and seasonal footers during quiet periods so they're ready when you need them for time-sensitive campaigns.
Create one block per element: Save headers separately from footers so you can mix and match them in different emails.
Build compliance-ready blocks for different regions: Save blocks with GDPR disclaimers, CAN-SPAM footers, and region-specific legal text to quickly create compliant emails for different markets.
Use the keyword search feature: When you have many saved blocks, type keywords to find them quickly instead of scrolling through the entire list.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Custom content blocks involve saving and retrieving design elements, so here are solutions to common workflow challenges:
Problem: "I can't find the save icon when I select a content row."
Solution: Make sure you're clicking directly on the row/section you want to save, not on individual elements within it. The save icon should appear in the toolbar when the entire row is selected.
Problem: "My saved content blocks aren't appearing in the 'Saved Rows' dropdown."
Solution: Refresh your email editor and try accessing the Rows tab again. If blocks still don't appear, verify that the save process completed successfully by looking for the success message.
Problem: "The content block looks different when I drag it into a new email."
Solution: Some formatting may adapt to the new email's overall theme or width settings. Check the block's styling and adjust colors, fonts, or spacing to match your current email design.
Problem: "I can't find a specific saved block even though I know I saved it."
Solution: Use the keyword filter feature to search for your block by typing part of its name. If you still can't find it, check if it was saved under a different name or by a different team member.
