What This Feature Does

The Inbox Testing add-on lets you check where your emails land—inbox or spam—across major email providers before sending to your full subscriber list. You'll get a detailed report showing placement results for Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and other providers.

When and Why You'd Need This

Use inbox testing when you want to verify your email will reach inboxes, especially:

  • Before launching a new campaign

  • After making significant changes to your email content or sending domain

  • When trying new subject lines or email formats

  • If you suspect deliverability issues

Step-by-Step Instructions

Enable the Inbox Testing Add-on

  1. Click your profile icon in the top navigation bar

  2. Select Settings

  3. Click Add-ons in the settings menu

  4. Scroll to find Inbox Testing

  5. Toggle the switch to On

The add-on costs $25 for 10 tests. These tests do not count toward your email sending credits.

Run an Inbox Test

You can test any campaign type—newsletters, drip campaigns, or broadcasts. Tests work the same whether your campaign is a draft or already sent.

Option 1: From the Campaigns Table

  1. Go to Campaigns in the navigation bar

  2. Find your campaign in the list

  3. Click the three-dot menu next to the campaign

  4. Select Test Inbox Placement

Option 2: While Creating or Editing a Campaign

  1. In the campaign review page, look for the Send Test Email button

  2. Next to it, you'll see Test Inbox Placement

  3. Click Test Inbox Placement

Option 3: From Campaign Overview

  1. Open your campaign's overview page

  2. Find the Send Test Email button

  3. Next to it, click Test Inbox Placement

Start and Monitor the Test

  1. Click Continue to start the test

  2. SendX will send your email to seed inboxes across multiple email providers

  3. Wait 1–2 hours for results (occasionally up to 3 hours)

View Your Report

  1. Go to Settings > Add-ons > Inbox Testing

  2. Click Reports

  3. Check the test you want to view

What You'll See in Reports

Your report shows:

  • Which email providers were tested (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.)

  • Percentage of emails that landed in the inbox

  • Percentage that went to spam or promotions tabs

  • Provider-specific results so you can see if one provider flags your emails more than others

Reports are saved permanently in your account for future reference.

Important Notes

  • Each test costs 1 credit from your 10-test bundle ($25)

  • You can run the same campaign through testing multiple times

  • Tests don't affect your actual sending reputation or domain health

  • You can purchase additional test bundles when you run out

  • If "Test Inbox Placement" doesn't appear in the menu, verify the add-on toggle is turned on in Settings

Common Questions

How long do tests take?
Most tests complete in 1–2 hours, though some may take up to 3 hours depending on provider response times.

Can I test drafts or only sent campaigns?
Both. You can test a campaign whether it's still in draft or has already been sent to your list.

No. Inbox tests use separate test credits and don't count toward your account's email sending limits.

What types of campaigns can I test?
All campaign types—newsletters, drip emails, and broadcast campaigns.

What happens when I run out of tests?
You can purchase additional test bundles at any time through the Inbox Testing add-on settings.
