Campaign TTL (Time to Live) lets you set an expiration window for your newsletter campaigns. If any emails in the campaign aren't delivered within your specified timeframe, they'll automatically be removed from the sending queue and won't be sent at all.

When You'd Use This Feature

Campaign TTL is useful when your email content becomes irrelevant or misleading after a certain date. Common scenarios include:

  • Flash sales or limited-time offers (e.g., "24-hour sale ends tonight") – you don't want emails arriving after the sale is over

  • Event invitations – no point sending an invite after the event has already happened

  • Time-sensitive announcements – product launches, webinar reminders, or urgent updates that lose value after a few days

  • Holiday or seasonal promotions – offers that expire on a specific date

Without TTL, emails stuck in the sending queue could arrive days later, confusing recipients or damaging trust.

How to Enable Campaign TTL

Campaign TTL is a free addon that must be enabled before you can use it in your campaigns.

  1. Go to Settings > Addons (or the addon settings page)

  2. Find the Campaign TTL section

  3. Check the box next to "Enable Campaign TTL"

  4. Save your changes

Once enabled, the TTL option will appear when you schedule newsletter campaigns.

How to Set TTL When Creating a Campaign

After enabling the addon, you'll see the TTL setting on the campaign schedule page each time you create or edit a newsletter.

  1. Create or edit a newsletter campaign

  2. Go to the Schedule step where you set your send time

  3. Look for the Campaign TTL field

  4. Enter the number of days (between 1 and 7 days) you want the campaign to remain active

    • Default is 1 day if you don't change it

  5. Schedule and send your campaign as usual

Example: If you schedule a campaign to start sending at 9 AM on Monday and set TTL to 2 days, any emails not sent by 9 AM on Wednesday will be dropped from the queue.

Common Questions

Q: Why would emails still be in the queue days after I started the campaign?
A: This can happen with very large contact lists or when send rate limits are applied. TTL gives you control over how long those queued emails remain valid.

Q: Can I set different TTL durations for different campaigns?
A: Yes. TTL is configured per campaign, so you can use 1 day for one newsletter and 7 days for another.

Q: What happens to contacts whose emails were dropped?
A: They simply won't receive that specific campaign. They remain on your list and will receive future campaigns normally.
