A dedicated IP gives you exclusive control over your sending reputation. It's billed annually at $300/year per IP. This article explains how dedicated IP billing works and what to expect.
When you'll need this
Read this article if you're considering adding a dedicated IP to your account, you want to understand the cost commitment before subscribing, or you're wondering how dedicated IP charges appear on your invoice.
What is a dedicated IP?
By default, SendX sends your emails through shared IP addresses used by multiple customers. A dedicated IP is an IP address reserved exclusively for your sending.
Benefits of a dedicated IP:
Your reputation isn't affected by other senders
More control over deliverability
Better for high-volume senders (100k+ emails/month)
Required by some enterprise email policies
When you might NOT need one:
You send fewer than 10,000 emails per month
You're still warming up your email program
Your current deliverability is already strong
Dedicated IP pricing
Item | Price |
Dedicated IP | $300/year per IP |
That works out to approximately $25/month, but it's billed as a single annual charge.
You can view your dedicated IP add-on in the Team Billing section:
How billing works
When you subscribe
When you add a dedicated IP to your account:
You're charged immediately for the full annual amount ($300)
If you subscribe mid-billing-cycle, the charge is prorated for the remainder of the year
The IP is provisioned and ready for use within 24-48 hours
Annual renewal
Dedicated IPs renew automatically each year:
You'll be charged $300 on your renewal date
SendX sends a reminder before renewal
If you don't want to renew, cancel before the renewal date
If you cancel
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your annual term
No partial refunds for unused months
Your IP is released back to the shared pool
You'll need to re-warm a new IP if you subscribe again later
Multiple dedicated IPs
Some high-volume senders use multiple dedicated IPs. Each IP is billed separately:
Number of IPs | Annual Cost |
1 IP | $300/year |
2 IPs | $600/year |
3 IPs | $900/year |
5 IPs | $1,500/year |
If you need more than 5 IPs or want volume discounts, contact SendX support.
Warming up your dedicated IP
A new dedicated IP has no sending history, which means inbox providers don't know whether to trust it. You need to "warm up" the IP by gradually increasing sending volume.
SendX offers Campaign Auto-Warmup (free) to help with this process. It automatically throttles your sending to build reputation safely.
Typical warmup timeline:
Week 1: 500-3,000 emails/day
Week 2: 5,000-25,000 emails/day
Week 3-Onwards: Gradually increase to full volume
Rushing the warmup process can damage your IP reputation before it's established.
How dedicated IP charges appear on your invoice
Dedicated IP charges appear as a separate line item on your invoice:
Dedicated IP (Annual) $300.00
Important notes
Annual commitment. Unlike monthly add-ons, dedicated IPs are billed annually. Plan accordingly.
Warmup is essential. Don't expect instant results. Budget 4-8 weeks for proper warmup.
One IP per team. Each team needs its own dedicated IP if you want separate sending reputations. For any custom use case contact SendX support
No refunds for early cancellation. If you cancel mid-year, you lose access but don't get a refund.
Common questions
Can I try a dedicated IP before committing to a year?
No, dedicated IPs require an annual commitment. If you're unsure, start with shared IPs and monitor your deliverability first.
What happens if my dedicated IP gets blacklisted?
You're responsible for your sending practices. If your IP gets blacklisted due to poor list or spam complaints, you'll need to co-operate with our team while they work on delisting it. SendX support can provide guidance if you are unsure.
Can I transfer my dedicated IP to another SendX account?
Yes, You can contact SendX support for this.
Do I need a dedicated IP for transactional emails?
It depends on your volume. For most users, shared IPs work fine for transactional emails. High-volume senders (100k+ transactional emails/month) may benefit from a dedicated IP.
How do I know if my dedicated IP is working correctly?
Monitor your deliverability metrics in SendX. You should see consistent inbox placement rates after the warmup period. If you notice issues, check your sending practices and list quality first.
