Domain whitelisting through Namecheap helps authenticate your emails, improving deliverability and reducing the chances of your messages landing in spam. This guide provides a step-by-step process to add the necessary DNS records (like DKIM, or CNAME) to your Namecheap domain.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • Access to your Namecheap account

  • Your domain already registered and managed via Namecheap

  • DNS records (TXT, CNAME, etc.) provided by Sendx have been generated.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Log in to Namecheap

Step 2: Access Domain List

  • Click on “Domain List” from the left sidebar.

  • Find your domain and click Manage next to it.

Step 3: Go to Advanced DNS

  • In the domain dashboard, navigate to the “Advanced DNS” tab.

Step 4: Add DNS Records

  • Scroll to the Host Records section and click Add New Record.

  • Select the correct record type (e.g., TXT for SPF/DKIM, CNAME for tracking).

  • Paste the values exactly as provided by your email platform.

  • Leave TTL as automatic unless specified otherwise.

  • Click the green checkmark to save each record.

Step 5: Verify Your Domain

  • Return to your email platform and click Verify or Authenticate.

  • Allow some time (up to 24 hours) for DNS propagation.

  • The verification process in SendX typically completes within 24 hours if the DNS records are configured accurately. A green indicator in the platform will denote successful DKIM verification.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Avoid duplicate records: Only one SPF or DKIM record should exist per domain. If needed, merge values rather than creating multiple entries.

  • Use correct values: Always use the copy function instead of typing manually to avoid errors in the values or code.

  • Re-verify if needed: If verification fails initially, give it some time and try again. If the domain remains unverified after 24 hours, consider reaching out to support for further assistance.

Troubleshooting and Confirming Domain Verification

To ensure your domain is successfully verified and whitelisted, follow these advanced troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify Accuracy of DKIM Records: Ensure all DKIM records have been correctly added and match those provided by the email platform.

  2. Ensure Proper CNAME Setup: Check for discrepancies in CNAME records, such as unnecessary domain repetitions, and correct them as needed.

  3. Check for Additional Records: Validate proper configuration for other DNS entries like TRACK and Return Path to complete the whitelisting setup.

  4. Confirm Green Indicators: Once DNS records propagate, verify if DKIM and other necessary indicators turn green within SendX. By following these guidelines, you can address common issues related to incomplete domain verification and ensure proper whitelisting for efficient email delivery.

  • Use the platform indicator: Ensure that the status indicator for DKIM turns green to confirm successful verification.

  • Aim to identify propagation issues: If your records appear accurate but verification fails, confirm delays with DNS propagation which may take up to 24 hours.

  • Confirmation Indicators: Check if the domain appears successfully whitelisted in the domain verification section of your email platform.

  • Prepare for all relevant DNS records: Ensure that not just DKIM but also TRACK and Return Path entries are properly verified to avoid incomplete whitelisting efforts.

  • Inspect your CNAME and DKIM records: Double-check these entries for discrepancies, such as duplicate full domains, and adjust by retaining only the necessary prefix (e.g., 'sp-bounce' instead of 'sp-bounce.example.com').
