When sending emails using your own domain name, authenticating your domain is crucial to ensure your messages are trusted by email providers and reach your subscribers’ inboxes. Domain authentication helps prevent spoofing, increases deliverability, and builds credibility.

This guide will show you how to whitelist your domain by adding DKIM, and CNAME (Track) records through SendX.

Before You Begin

Before proceeding, make sure you have:

  • Access to your SendX account

  • Access to your domain’s DNS settings (through your domain provider like GoDaddy, Google Domains, Cloudflare, etc.)

  • The domain you want to authenticate is active and correctly pointed

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Log in to SendX

  • Go to your SendX account.

  • Navigate to SettingsDomains.

Step 2: Add Your Domain

  • Click on Add Domain.

  • Enter the domain you use for sending emails (e.g., yourdomain.com).

  • Ensure you enter only the root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) and not the full URL with 'www'

  • Click Generate Records.

Add Records to Your Domain Provider

  • Log in to your domain provider (GoDaddy, Google Domains, etc.)

  • Access the DNS Management section.

  • For each record:

    • Select the correct type (TXT or CNAME)

    • Name / Host: Copy from SendX (e.g., default._domainkey)

    • Value / Data: Paste the exact value from SendX

  • Save the changes

Step 5: Verify the Domain

  • Return to SendX and click Verify.

  • DNS propagation may take a few minutes to a few hours.

4. Tips & Best Practices

  • Use the copy button: Prevents accidental errors while copying records.

  • Allow time for propagation: It can take up to 24 hours for DNS changes to take effect.

  • Check for typos: One incorrect character can prevent verification.

5. Troubleshooting / Common Issues

  • Verification Fails?

    • Double-check for typos in the Host and Value fields.

    • Make sure you haven't added extra spaces or missing characters.
