When you create a new team, it starts with a 14-day free trial. Each team has 500 contacts and 500 emails to test with. If the trial expires without upgrading, the team locks and certain resources are cleaned up after 18 days.
When you'll need this
Read this article if you're creating a new team for a different department or use case, a team's trial is about to expire, or a team has been locked after trial expiry and you want to understand what happens next.
Creating a new team
When you create a new team in SendX:
The team gets its own 14-day free trial
The team can have up to 500 contacts and send up to 500 emails during the trial
The team has access to all SendX features
The team's billing is independent from other teams
Each team operates as its own workspace with separate contacts, campaigns, and settings.
Choosing a plan for the new team
To upgrade a new team from trial to paid:
Switch to the new team (if you have multiple teams)
Go to Profile dropdown β Team Billing
Select a contact tier that fits the team's needs
Complete payment
The team's paid plan starts immediately.
What happens when a team's trial ends
If a team's 14-day trial expires without upgrading:
Immediate effects:
The team locks
Email sending is disabled
You can still log in and view all data
Reminder schedule:
SendX sends reminders to the team's users:
Day After Expiry | What Happens |
Day 1 | First reminder email |
Day 8 | Second reminder email |
Day 17 | Final warning email |
Day 18 | Resource cleanup |
Day 18 cleanup: what gets removed
On Day 18 after trial expiry, SendX cleans up certain resources to prevent abuse and reduce infrastructure usage:
Forms
All forms stop working
Hosted form pages are removed
Embedded forms on your website will show errors
Blog add-on
Blog feature is disabled
Published blog posts become inaccessible
Integrations
All integrations are deleted
Connections to Zapier, Shopify, and other tools are removed
What's preserved:
Contacts and lists
Campaign history
Email templates
Analytics data
Recovering after trial expiry
If you upgrade after Day 18, your contacts and campaigns are still there. However, you'll need to:
Reconnect integrations
Re-enable the blog add-on and republish posts
To avoid this, upgrade before Day 18 or at least export your form configurations and note your integration settings.
Important notes
Each team gets its own trial. Creating a new team always starts a fresh 14-day trial with 500 contacts and 500 emails.
Trial teams can have add-ons. You can enable paid add-ons during the trial without upgrading the core plan.
Cleanup is irreversible. Integrations, and blog settings deleted on Day 18 cannot be recovered automatically.
Other teams are unaffected. If one team's trial expires, your other paid teams continue working normally.
Common questions
Can I extend a team's trial?
Trials are fixed at 14 days. Contact support if you have a specific need for more evaluation time.
What if I upgrade on Day 17?
You're safe. Upgrading anytime before Day 18 preserves all your forms, integrations, and blog settings.
Can I delete a team instead of upgrading?
Yes. If you created a team for testing and don't need it, you can delete the team. Contact support for team deletion.
Do trial teams count toward the account invoice?
Trial teams are free, so they don't add charges to your invoice. Once upgraded, the team's tier and add-ons appear on the next invoice.
