Transactional emails and list cleaning are usage-based add-ons. You pay based on how much you use, not a flat monthly fee. This article explains how billing works for these services.
When you'll need this
Read this article if you're considering adding transactional email or list cleaning to your account, you want to understand how usage-based pricing works, or you're trying to predict your monthly costs for these services.
List Cleaning billing
List Cleaning verifies that email addresses are valid before you send to them. This helps reduce bounces and protect your sender reputation.
Pricing structure
Component | Price |
Base subscription | $10/month |
Included verifications | 1,000/month |
Overage rate | $0.003 per email ($3 per 1,000) |
How it works
When you subscribe to List Cleaning, you pay $10/month which includes 1,000 email verifications. If you verify more than 1,000 emails in a billing cycle, you're charged $0.003 for each additional verification.
Example calculation:
You verify 10,000 emails in one month:
First 1,000: included in base ($10)
Next 9,000: 9,000 Γ $0.003 = $27.00
Total: $37

How usage charges appear on your invoice
Usage-based charges are calculated at the end of each billing cycle. Your invoice shows:
Base subscription fee (if applicable)
Included allowance (what's covered by the base fee)
Overage usage (how many units you used beyond the allowance)
Overage charge (usage Γ per-unit rate)
Here's an example showing usage details and the resulting charge:
Tips for managing usage costs
Set up alerts. Monitor your usage throughout the month so you're not surprised by overage charges.
Clean incrementally. Instead of cleaning your entire database at once, clean new contacts as they come in.
Prioritize high-risk segments. Focus cleaning efforts on older lists or lists from less reliable sources.
Important notes
Usage resets each billing cycle. Unused included verifications don't roll over to the next month.
Charges are calculated at cycle end. You won't see the final usage charge until your billing cycle closes.
No caps on usage. There's no maximum limit. You can verify as many emails as you need, and you'll be charged accordingly.
Cancellation doesn't erase charges. If you cancel mid-cycle, you're still responsible for usage charges incurred before cancellation.
Common questions
Can I set a spending limit on usage-based add-ons?
Not currently. If you're concerned about runaway costs, monitor your usage regularly and clean lists in smaller batches.
What happens if my payment fails for usage charges?
SendX will retry the payment. If it continues to fail, your account may be restricted until the balance is paid.
Is there a discount for high-volume cleaning?
The standard rate is $0.003 per email. Contact SendX support if you have enterprise-level needs.
Do I get charged for duplicate verifications?
Yes, each verification request counts as usage, even if you've verified that email before. Keep records of previously cleaned emails to avoid re-verifying.
When is the best time to clean my list?
Clean before major campaigns, after importing new contacts, and periodically (quarterly is a good baseline) to catch addresses that have gone bad.
