Best Practices & Tips
Use JPG for photos, PNG for graphics with transparency
β Always Add Alt Text
Helps with accessibility for visually impaired readers
Shows when images are blocked by email clients
Improves deliverability
β Optimize for Mobile
Use responsive images that scale on mobile devices
Test your email on mobile before sending
β Don't Use Too Many Images
Balance images with text (too many images can trigger spam filters)
Aim for 60% text, 40% images ratio
β Common Mistakes to Avoid
Using images larger than 1MB (causes slow loading)
Forgetting alt text (bad for accessibility)
Making your entire email one big image (hurts deliverability)
Linking to images on your local computer (recipients won't see them!)
Troubleshooting
"My image isn't showing up"
Make sure you're using a publicly accessible URL (not a local file path)
Check that the image URL ends with .jpg, .png, or .gif
Verify the image link isn't broken
"My image looks blurry"
Upload a higher resolution version
Make sure you're not stretching a small image too large
"Recipients can't see my images"
Some email clients block images by default
This is why alt text is so important!
Remind recipients to "display images" if needed
Pro Tip: Before sending any campaign, always send a test email to yourself and at least one other person with a different email client (e.g., if you use Gmail, test with Outlook). Check how images load, verify links work, and ensure the email looks professional on both desktop and mobile. This 5-minute check can prevent embarrassing mistakes and improve campaign performance!
